Letter to Home - November 23, 2009

Hey Family!

Wow, this week has been a little crazy! I had one of the coolest experiences on my mission this week. I have been doing my studying in the morning, and have been understanding the atonement more. It has been awesome, things have just kinda clicked. So at our lesson with Cecilia (the old, less active lady, who before we met her, had not been to church in over 30 years!) a miracle happened. She has ALWAYS had a problem understanding the Atonement, and why God would put his son through all that pain. She didn't understand, and she had a problem with it. During our lesson, I was able to share with her, what the Lord had just taught me, a few days earlier. The spirit was strong, and she understands! Her testimony is growing, and she was at church yesterday! After our lesson with her, she said that she felt like jumping up and down! (Not a good idea for an old lady on a house boat!) She also said the closing prayer for the first time, and it was amazing. The Lord helped me understand, so that I could teach to her needs, and share my testimony with her.

Then to top off the week - was Steve's baptism! It went so good! Steve's non-member parents were there, as well as one of our investigators, and they enjoyed it. Steve is going to continue to learn and grow, and be a great addition to the ward.

Well, we have about 4 or 5 thanksgiving dinners planned on Thursday, so we are well taken care of! The Garrison's are leaving tomorrow, to go to St. George for Thanksgiving. They decorated there house for Christmas already, and it is weird. I cant believe it is already Christmas time! I remember when I first got into the field, and I told myself that by Christmas, I shouldn't feel like a greeny anymore! But I think that I still will. There is so much to learn!

Well things are going alright with my comp. November of last year is when his mom past away, so he is having a hard time I think. It is hard to be diligent and keep all the mission rules, because I feel like I'm a Nazi, and a boring missionary, but I don't care! I do my best everyday.

Well I love you all, and hope that you have a great Thanksgiving! I'm so grateful that I have the best family!
