Letter to Home - April 20, 2009

Hello to my beloved family! I love you! I am doing well. The MTC is truly a great place. The spirit is great, and the people here at the MTC (and i mean everyone) are so nice and welcoming. the first days here were good. to my surprise I wasn't homesick at all, when we were keeping busy. I still doing great, but I think it has set in a bit that i am actually a missionary for 2 years - and not just here for a week, for efy or something. I am still excited, but it's just tough at times. I'm learning to have faith, in a way that I have never had, and to trust the Lord to help remove my doubts and fears. But I will not give up. This is a great place to learn and grow. The Lord has already blessed me in so many ways. well, my companion finally came on Friday. His name is Elder Rushing and he is also from Hawaii. So we have 2 Hawaiins and 2 white boys. We have good times and work hard, but I think the lord is testing my patience with my companion. He is a great person, but I find it hard to love him. but since I was companions with Elder Kesler and Elder Waiwaiole for a few days we became good friends, so all 4 of us just kind of hang out. Well, the mtc food is actually really good. And I can have chocolate milk with every meal (there would be an exclamation mark at the end of that sentence, but the computer I'm on is retarded and wont let me us that button) we also have a great zone, and branch president. our branch president is a powerful man, and he sounds like Barak Obama but he is white. So that's pretty cool. Thank you so much for the package, and the letters. Just to let you know you don't need to send me anymore packages while I'm at the mtc, because I eat a ton of food already, and everyone else just eats them any ways. But I love the letters. The letters mean a lot more to me anyway. well I love you all so much. I'm happy to be here and am doing great. hope all is well at home. my p days here are on Monday and my email is tomray at my ldsmail.net I love you.

 -Elder Cook
