Happy Mother's Day!
Today was my first Sunday in the mission field. It was good and I got to call home! Even though I just talked to my mom 4 days ago at the airport it was still great to hear them. We talked for about 50 minutes. It was kind of hard at church today. We cover 2 wards in our area so we went to all 3 meetings in both wards! Six hours of church! Yup, it's pretty awesome. The hard thing was, that it was two sacrament meetings dedicated to mothers. I'm a mama's boy. then we sang Love At Home and I wanted to cry. We also bore our testimonies in Relief Society, because they talked about being righteous mothers and raising their sons to serve a mission. Right before I had to get up in front of all these ladies and speak, I felt like if I talked to them about my mom that I would start crying - and I didn't want that to happen. I said a prayer right before and I almost instantly felt peace and comfort and the homesickness went away. It was a neat experience. The members here in Cali are amazing! They are so nice. Tonight we ate at the Ross' house. They fed us steak! It was so charitable to have us over on Mother's Day. I'm still trying to get in the swing of things of how to do missionary work. I need to learn how to listen to the spirit better. It is all about the spirit!
