May 1, 2009

Today we had our last TA (teaching appointment). When we got there, our teacher, Bro. Williams, told us that we would be switching companions. We were all very surprised. I taught with Elder Johnson. It was a good appointment. It flowed really well, and I hope I was speaking by the spirit. We used really good scriptures and made all the commitments that we needed to. We still have a lot to learn, but I think that a lot of it will just need to be learned in the field. Today was also Elder Rushing's birthday. I bought him some candy, a card (signed by everyone in the district), and a pictures of Christ. I hope that he liked it, but it seemed like he didn't care - but I don't mind. He got a package from his girlfriend today (it arrived right on time!) and he loved it. He really misses home (mostly his girlfriend) and it really distracts him. I'm glad I don't have that distraction. Today we also watched a video of a talk that Elder Bednar gave at an MTC devotional in 2005. He was very bold, and I think I needed to hear it. In a way I felt overwhelmed at what I need to do for the next 2 years and what I need to become, but I feel comfort that the Lord will help me.
