May 24, 2009

It has been a good day. It started with 6 hours of church. It sounds bad - but I'm starting to enjoy it. I love our wards here. There are great people here in Cali. After church we went to the Wilkinson's for dinner. They are the best. They have 4 small kids that are the coolest. It was a great dinner appointment. After we went tracting. We knocked on a couple doors, and talked to a few people, then we came up to this group of high school girls. When we walked past they asked what we were selling. We told them that we are Mormon missionaries. We got talking a big, when they asked if we wanted something to eat. We felt good about it, so we walked to - I think it was their friends house - where a party was going on. A whole bunch of high school kids were having a party. There was some smoking going on in the back yard, and one girl even invited us to join them. So we just started talking to them on their front porch. They had a lot of questions. Mostly about what missionaries do, why we are out here, why we don't drink, smoke, have sex before marriage, and all that stuff. We answered all of their questions, and taught a lot. We talked for a long time, and it was getting cold so we went into the house (we felt good about it) and sat down in their living room and taught more. At one time there were about 6 or 7 people we were teaching, and answering questions about the church. It was awesome. We left them with pamphlets and hope that they felt something. They were all really good kids - just need direction.
