June 11, 2009

So about last week we got a call from Bro. Drysdale (our ward mission leader - in the 1st ward) and he told us that a man named Barry Lebu - who used to live here in San Ramon - is coming back for a week and wants to be baptized! He lived here and was being taught for a long time (went through a lot of missionaries) but moved to Florida with his girl friend that is a member). They were living together here in San Ramon, and that may have been a reason he never got baptized. But they moved to Florida, and last week they were driving from Florida, back to San Ramon to settle some business. On the way there they stopped in Utah and stayed with a senior couple. They had a really good discussion, they prayed together and took them to the Provo temple grounds. The spirit just hit Barry and he decided he needed to be baptized! But he had to get married, so the ward here threw a wedding together tonight and the baptism is tomorrow! It is a miracle. The wedding tonight was really nice. Barry's bride is Laotian and we had a feast of Lao food after the ceremony. It was so good! Today was also our last district meeting before my first transfer. I'm going to miss our district. Since me and E. Cain are the only Elders (with 4 sisters) we call it the sistrict! It has been really good.
